You will need to complete courses and qualifications for this but it shouldn’t take too long. You can then become employed by a company or work for yourself. Everyday is different, one minute you could be fixing the local church heating and another you could be inspecting boilers for faults. Church Pastor If you love being close to people then there is nothing better than becoming a church pastor. While the pay isn't the best in the world, this is a very rewarding and satisfying job. Preaching about the things you love and believe in to other like minded people each week will give you immediate job satisfaction. You will need to qualify and then become ordained before you can get a job as a pastor so this is the first step in your journey. Teacher If teaching is something you have always wanted to do then definitely go for it, they are calling out for great teachers currently. You might already have childcare qualifications, if so this will help you get your foot in the door. You will need to get your qualified teacher status in order to teach in schools or colleges. Think about the age group you want to work with as this will change the way you study and what you study. You will also need good qualifications in math and english so if you don't have those it is a good idea to add them on to your teacher training courses. Social Work Are you great with children, families, and the older generation? If so, then how about a career move into social care. Social care can give you amazing levels of satisfaction knowing you are helping people and potentially changing their lives for the better. Social workers get a lot of stick but really they are the backbone of society. If you want to spend your days fighting for what people need then you will be a local hero. Emergency Services As a member of the emergency services you will be working in either the fire, police, or paramedic department. You need to decide which one will suit you and your lifestyle better, occasionally fire fighters will work part time sometimes even on a voluntary basis. The hours can be long in any emergency services job so this is another thing you will need to consider before moving careers. You might also need to retrain if you don’t have any skills or qualifications in this industry. Lawyer Lastly, if you like helping people but you want to get more into the nitty gritty stuff then becoming a lawyer could be just the thing you need. There are two sides to every story and as a lawyer it is your job to find the one telling the truth. You will need to decide which type of lawyer you want to be as there are a few different types. You don’t just get lawyers in courtrooms defending victims or perpetrators. You also get lawyers that help people when they are in need, such as property or family lawyers.
